Hi! I’m Melissa.

I was first handed a camera when I was six on a sailboat trip with my family. It was a disposable camera and my mom kept my blurry, off centered, fingers in front of the lens, images that were later developed. I still have them saved. I can’t say if that was the first time I fell in love with photography but I can say I understood the act of documenting with a camera.

Fast forward to 15 year old Melissa and that’s when my love for the arts combined with my love of photography.

I have an Art Education degree which allowed me to teach high school photography for five years. Those years I learned that I loved teaching others something that I’m passionate about and how important of a tool was to teach others to learn to see things from different perspectives.

I’ve done my share of freelance work on the side. I’ve photographed weddings, engagements, families, maternity, newborns, and portraits for seniors as well as headshots for my friends in entertainment. But I’m ready to take on more shoots now that I’ve stepped away from the classroom.

I want to be more than just someone you hire to photograph your event/day. I would love to feel like you’ve found a friend in me, someone you trust and feel comfortable around to be your unique self and to show your genuine feelings around.

I’m a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a lover of the outdoors and an artist. All those roles have shaped me into the photographer I am today.
